Skiving Off

“Harry! Mate, hurry up would you? Hermione has made threats against my manhood if I don’t get to that damned S. P. E. W. fundraiser on time,” Ron groused, looking cautiously up the stairs as he waited for his friend.

“I have no desire to think about imminent danger to your manhood, Weasley. Please do bellow a bit more quietly next time, won’t you?” Draco snarked, coming out of the kitchen carrying a tray of food.

“Is Harry coming or not, Ferret?” Ron barked, shooting a tense glance at his watch.

“He’s rather tied up at the moment, Weasley. Go on without him. We wouldn’t want you to lose your bollocks now would we?” Draco questioned with a smirk.

“I don’t want to know what kind of kinky shit you and Harry get up to, Malfoy. I wouldn’t put it past you to really have him tied down to the bed up there,” Ron claimed, looking disgusted.

“You have such a dirty mind, Weasley. Pity it’s wasted on someone like you,” Draco teased. “Harry is sick. I was just taking him some dinner.”

Ron noticed then that the tray Draco carried bore soup and bread, as well as a mug of tea with honey.  Ron’s disgust instantly shifted to an expression of concern.

“Will he be okay?” the redhead asked.

“He should be fine, Weasley. I’m taking good care of him,” Draco assured Ron.

“See that you do, Malfoy. Meanwhile, what am I going to tell my girlfriend?” Ron wondered despairingly, “She was counting on Harry to be there. His name always draws a big crowd.”

“The bank draft on the table should more than make up for that,” Draco told him smugly. “She may never need to hold another fundraiser again.”

Ron’s eyes widened when he caught sight of the amount on the paper.

“That’s more zeros than I’ve ever seen in my life!” Ron exclaimed, “I can’t believe Harry is donating so much.”

“He feels guilty about not being there tonight, and he wanted to make up for that,” Draco explained.

“Still...that much...just...I-I-” Ron spluttered, still incoherent with disbelief.

“Weasley! If you’ve left off babbling, do let me get back to Harry. He needs me,” Draco snarled impatiently.

“Oh, of course Malfoy,” Ron said slowly, still feeling slightly dazed by the generous donation. “Tell Harry we hope he feels better, yeah?”

Draco promised to deliver the message, breathing a sigh of relief as Ron Apparated out of their parlour

“Draco are you coming? I’m hungry,” Harry croaked, sounding miserable.

“Sorry, Harry.  Weasley was being positively chatty,” Draco told him. “He looked goggle-eyed when he saw the amount we were donating to Granger’s little cause.”

Harry’s answering laugh was hoarse-sounding.

“It was the least I could do, seeing as I won’t be at the fundraiser at all this year,” Harry said.

“Yes, I agree,” Draco answered, “And quite a Slytherin way of getting out of it, too.”

Harry looked at Draco’s face blearily

“What do you mean, Draco? I really am sick,” Harry whimpered pitifully.

“You agreed to test the twins’ newest batch of Skiving Sweets last week, Potter. I’m not an idiot. That was a brilliant way to save us from a deadly dull evening. Mind you, I did have to deal with Weasley, which you owe me for, by the way,” Draco informed him.

“His name is Ron, Draco,” Harry admonished, his words obscured by his stuffy nose. “He’s not so bad.”

“Says you,” Draco complained. “Although, he did have one interesting idea this evening...”

“What was it?” Harry inquired curiously.

“Tying you up. Would you like that, Harry? Would you like me to tie you to the bed and have my way with you?” Draco questioned.

“Yes, please,” Harry responded, suddenly feeling heat that had nothing to do with fever.

“Take the antidote, Harry, and then I’ll take care of exactly what you need,” Draco growled huskily.

Harry thought later that skiving off had never been so much fun.
