“Draco, can’t we just go and hide? Your father hates me.”
“I do understand your apprehension, Ronald, but father does not hate you.”
“Then why is he glaring at me as if he wishes I’d melt through the floor?”
“He’s just not used to seeing public displays of affection.”
“That was not a public display of affection, Draconis,” Lucius barked from behind the couple, “That was public indecency! The two of you were naked, and Ronald’s tongue was…Merlin, don’t make me think about it anymore. Narcissa! I need a drink!”
“See? He hates me.”
“He’s just old-fashioned, that’s all.”
“I am not old-fashioned! I’d just rather the two of didn’t constantly maul one another in every room of the manor just as I happen to walk in.”
“I think it’s rather sweet,” Narcissa said.” They’re in love, Lucius. You can see it in the way they embrace each other.”
“They’re rather akin to clinging vines. It’s unseemly. The party starts soon, and they are yet to let each other out of their sight.”
“As I recall, we were just as bad when we first married. Remember, at our engagement party, father accused you of putting stimulant potions in my goblet at dinner.”
“Oh, Merlin, that is more information than I ever needed to know about my parents! Come on, Ronald. I think we ought to go and shower before our guests arrive.”
“I would ask if you were going to shower separately, but I truly do not wish to know. Please make use of silencing charms. I’ll have nightmares enough just knowing you’ve married a Weasley without hearing what you get up to in private.”
“Father! Behave yourself. Your son-in-law is a Weasley, and you will learn to live with that. I love you, but I will not allow you to belittle him. If anyone is going to tease him, it will be me.”
“Oh, Merlin save me! Go…just go. ”
“You know, he’s taking all this rather better than I expected.”
“Maybe you’re growing on him,” Draco mused.
“Like some sort of mushroom, maybe."
“You are so silly, Ronald,” Draco said fondly.
“You know you love me.”
“For the rest of our lives.”
